New releases is a ranked list for one Amazon category. Each row has an ASIN, a title, a price string, a rating, and a rank label such as #1. You pass a category path, not a keyword.
👉 To access this endpoint, you must obtain an API key: https://steadyapi.com/register
Authentication
Every call uses a Bearer token from your SteadyAPI dashboard.
Documentation:
https://docs.steadyapi.com/#authenticating-requests
headers = {
'Authorization': 'Bearer YOUR_API_KEY'
}
Where this fits
Use a category path you already know, then take asin from a row into GET /v1/amazon/products/details or GET /v1/amazon/products/offers. This is not the product search endpoint. A shopper query such as “baby bottles” is not a category path.
Track Amazon new releases
Endpoint: GET /v1/amazon/rankings/new-releases
Documentation:
https://docs.steadyapi.com/#amazon-GETapi-v1-amazon-rankings-new-releases
Parameters
category— required category path, max 100 characters (example:baby-products/166777011)country— optional marketplace code, defaultUSlanguage— optional, defaulten_USwhen that language exists for the marketplacepage— optional page number, default1
The category value is a path segment. The sample uses baby-products/166777011. A short slug such as beauty is what the docs show for another category. Letters, numbers, hyphens, and slashes are allowed. page moves you down that same ranking. It does not change the category.
Python
import requests
url = "https://api.steadyapi.com/v1/amazon/rankings/new-releases"
headers = {"Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_API_KEY"}
response = requests.get(url, headers=headers, params={
"category": "baby-products/166777011",
"page": 1,
})
response.raise_for_status()
payload = response.json()
for item in payload.get("body") or []:
print(item.get("rank"), item.get("asin"), item.get("price"))
Annotated sample
{
"asin": "B015XBYDLM",
"title": "Dr. Brown’s Natural Flow Level 2 Narrow Baby Bottle Silicone Nipple, Medium Flow, 3m+, 100% Silicone Bottle Nipple, 6 Count",
"rating": 4.8,
"rating_count": 92665,
"price": "$9.97",
"rank": "#1"
}
Store asin. Show rank and title. price is a string. rating is a number and rating_count is an integer. meta.category and meta.page echo the request. meta.currency for this US sample is USD.
Practical use
rank is the label on that page, including the #. Do not sort the page again by assuming #1 is a numeric field. If you need the number, strip the hash yourself.
Page 2 is a different slice of the same category. Keep meta.page with the ASINs so a later job does not mix page 1 and page 2.
The title in the sample is long. Truncate it for a card, and keep the full string if you are matching products. The ASIN is the stable id. The title is not.
