eBay API

Search public listings, then open the price, the pictures, and the seller. Bidding and checkout stay on eBay.

Capabilities

Search, listing, and seller

For price research and catalog tools. Search, then open one listing. Bidding and checkout stay on eBay.

Search

A query returns listings with price, condition, and seller. Condition, buying format, sort, and a minimum price are optional filters. See examples

One listing

Details add the specifics and the pictures. Offers are a separate call.

Similar items

Similar listings for an item you already have. Each one has its own price and condition.

The seller

The seller profile, and the listings that seller has up. The username on a listing is enough to open both.

Categories

Browse a category when you are not searching by words. Each category has an id, and a parent when it is nested.

A URL in

Resolve turns an item URL into the id the detail call expects.

How a call is made

The path

The key goes in the Authorization header as a bearer token. A query finds ids. An id or a URL opens the listing.

Search

GET /api/v1/ebay/search requires q. Optional filters include condition, format, sort, and priceMin. marketplace selects the site.

One listing

Details take id or url. Offers and similar items are separate calls on that listing.

The seller

The seller call takes username. Their other listings are /api/v1/ebay/seller/products.

Shortened examples

Sample responses

Shortened examples of a listing, a seller, a similar item, an offer, a category, and a resolved URL. The price is the one in the sample. None of these places a bid or checks out.

Before you integrate

Common questions

What you can read, and what the call will not do.

No. It reads the public listing, the price, the seller, and similar items. It does not bid, watch, or check out.

Yes. condition accepts new, used, or any. format accepts auction, fixed, or any. sort covers best match, newly listed, ending, and price.

No. The price in a sample is the price in that example.

Pass the item URL to /api/v1/ebay/products/details, or to /api/v1/ebay/resolve if you only need the id and the marketplace.

Pass marketplace when you want a specific eBay site. The docs list the values. A URL from that site also carries the marketplace.

Documentation

Search, a listing, and a seller are in the eBay docs, in four languages.

Code samples

A sample for each endpoint, in Shell, JavaScript, PHP, and Python.

Query, then id

No checkout

The call reads the public listing. Bidding, watching, and buying stay on eBay.

Seller is a second step

Your monthly plan
