Profiles, videos, and search

TikTok API

Look up a profile, a video, the comments, or run a search. A username or a link is enough. Calls use your SteadyAPI key.

Capabilities

Profile, video, comments, search

For research and moderation tools. Start with a username or a video link. Calls use your SteadyAPI key.

The profile

Username, name, bio, and the public counts. A username or a profile URL is enough. See examples

One video

Pass a video id or a URL and read the description, the counts, and the author. See examples

The comments

Comments, and the replies under one comment, are separate calls. The video call does not include the thread.

A hashtag

Hashtag info and the videos under that tag. The tag name is the way in.

Explore and suggestions

The explore feed and search suggestions, when you want what is circulating rather than one account.

Search

Search videos, accounts, and top results. You can also pull the videos posted on an account.

How a call is made

The path

Put the key in the Authorization header. A username or a URL opens a profile or a video.

The profile

GET /api/v1/tiktok/user/info takes username or url. One of the two is required.

The video

GET /api/v1/tiktok/video/info takes id or url. Comments take that video id. Replies also take commentId.

Search

Search takes q. Video search, user search, and an account's videos are separate calls.

Shortened examples

Sample responses

Short examples of a profile, a video, a comment, a hashtag, and an explore post. Counts move. A sample shows the fields, not a live profile.

* Overage stays off until you turn it on in Billing, and only for Stripe card subscriptions. Usage is counted in monthly periods that start on your billing day, yearly plans included. Requests past the included limit are billed after the period ends, up to the cap. If you switch plans during a period, the limit and overage rate of the plan you are on when that period ends apply to the whole period.

Why SteadyAPI

A username or a link

Open a profile or a video from a URL. Ask for comments when you want the thread. Calls use your SteadyAPI key.

A URL is enough

A profile URL or a video URL can be the input. Resolve turns a short link into the id the other calls use.

Search when you need it

Search, and the list of videos on an account, are their own calls. Use them when a single video isn't enough.

Comments are a second call

The video call does not include the thread. Ask for comments when you want them.

Your monthly plan

A profile and its comments count separately against the plan on the account.
